Crane Rails

Crane rail is specifically designed to carry heavy loads at low speeds. It is similar to tee rail with a thicker web and larger head. Nortrak offers a complete selection of all types of crane rail, light or heavy, and offers technical advice in the selection of rail for your application. Light wheel loading using wheel diameters of less than 12 inches are serviced by standard A.S.C.E. rail sections in crane track arrangements.

 

The most common for this purpose are:

  • 30 lb. A.S.C.E.
  • 40 lb. A.S.C.E.
  • 60 lb. A.S.C.E.
  • 80 lb. A.S.C.E.

 

To order crane rail please specify:

  • Rail section required
  • Total length required and preferred lengths (33 ft. or 39 ft.)
  • Number of joints required with matching heat treated bolts and washers
  • Special cuts or drilling required

 

Crane rail accessories required:

  • Rail clips and bolts or clamps
  • Hook bolts
  • Wheel stops
  • Tie plates


Nortrak can provide a variety of crane rail accessories. Flat seated crane rail plates are available for any size rail to allow spiking of rail to wooden ties. A variety of crane rail stops, removable or fixed, are available to restrict wheel movement. Beam mounted crane rails are frequently attached with hook bolts which can be designed to meet your specific requirements. Nortrak crane rail clips are designed to fit the contour of each rail section and are available with bolts.
