Blue Rods

A further improvement has been incorporated into the system with the use of voestalpine Nortrak "Blue Rods", a composite high strength material with good capacity to insulate.

Finally, Nortrak added an assist mechanism to drive the rear switch rods on longer turnouts where multiple throw positions are required. This is accomplished with a "Rotary Assist" drive that is parallel to the track on the machine side that allows for basket adjustment without removal of ducts or covers.
