NBS Cologne-Rhein/Main

voestalpine Klöckner Bahntechnik GmbH is a successful system supplier for the new line project between Cologne and the Rhein/Main airport.

As early as the planning stages, the Berlin office of voestalpine Klöckner Bahntechnik GmbH began meeting the special challenges of the large-scale NBS Cologne/Rhein/Main construction project, working very closely together with the construction firms in various lots of the projects.

voestalpine Klöckner Bahntechnik GmbH was specifically commissioned with the supply and delivery of rails in unwelded lengths of 120, turnouts and rail section devices for lots B and C, which accounted for 70% of the entire 177 kilometre long line. The supplied materials were laid, installed, welded and ground in collaboration with partners specialised in various different areas. Continuous involvement throughout the entire project, including acceptance tests and corresponding documentation, contributed significantly to the success as a system supplier with optimised customer satisfaction and efficiency. The logistics challenge in the large-scale project was surmounted once again by voestalpine Klöckner Bahntechnik GmbH in Berlin as a successful partner. The required superstructure materials were supplied and delivered just in time on specially engineered approach rails simultaneously to several different construction sites.

Our basic fundamental, system thinking, was once again put to the test as the most optimised solution for our customers in the interest of holistic perspectives.
