Halle an der Saale

Public transport systems for municipalities and surrounding areas must be attractive and must be customer-oriented in order to be accepted.

In Halle an der Saale, work began in 1998 on the construction of a streetcar line from the suburb of Neustadt to the main train station. A 7.8 kilometre long line through the old city is a very challenging task for project managers, construction firms, suppliers as well as for the contractor. The line will be completed in 2006 after eight years of construction time that entailed redirecting traffic and causing hindrances. A large portion of the superstructure material was supplied by voestalpine Klöckner Bahntechnik GmbH. Our special strengths are highly wear-resistant HSH® rails and the most modern turnout technology, which have made it possible for us to be a reliable partner for our customer Hallesche Verkehrs AG.
