The axle components are of the highest standard, were created by Daimler in a development process lasting several years and are used, for example, in the "flagship Mercedes Benz Actros". The components will be completed at the Daimler axle plant in Kassel after being integrated at the assembly plant in Wörth. With 11,000 employees, Wörth is Daimler Trucks’ largest and most modern assembly plant.
The "alphas - forming" reforming process, which has been patented by voestalpine Anarbeitung, will be used to manufacture the axle components. voestalpine Anarbeitung’s “alphas - forming” is ideal for the fulfilment of safety requirements, enables light construction, the reduction of costs and high functionality of components in the field of commercial vehicles, far exceeding the requirements defined by the client.
This contract has enabled voestalpine Anarbeitung to enter the component and component manufacturing sector for the first time and, on this basis, establish itself as an innovative supplier in the European commercial vehicle market.
voestalpine’s latest project is further evidence that the company is ambitiously driving ahead with the implementation of its strategy towards deepening, expanded value-added chains and the supply of clearly-defined and significant client segments.
