Thermomechanically Rolled Fine-Grain Steels

We deliver standard and high-strength thermomechanically rolled fine-grain steels with minimum yield strength of  355 - 550 MPa. These steels combine excellent toughness with best weldability and formability.

voestalpine special grade alform®plate is used in bridgebuilding, penstocks, vehicles and crane manufacturing.

Advantages

Our thermomechanically rolled fine-grain steels show excellent toughness and best weldability.

High resistance against cold cracks and high toughness in the heat affected zone (HAZ) result in good reliability of the welded joint.

Utilization of higher yield strength of high-strength fine-grain steels (alform plate 420 M, 460 M, 500 M and 550 M) compared to conventional S355 results in smaller cross section of steel constructions.

That leads to cost savings due to smaller component weight and therefore savings in transport, assembling and foundations as well as savings in processing, esp. in welding.
