Offshore Plates
We deliver high value construction plates for offshore applications as platforms and rigs.
Our steels for this purposes are thermomechanically rolled, normalised or quenched and tempered.
Advantgages
Our thermomechanically processed (TMCP) plates for offshore applications show excellent toughness and best weldability. High toughness in the welding seam and high resistance against cold cracks result in high reliability of the welded joint.
Slabs from our TOP-steelplant
The basis for the production of high quality linepipe plates are excellent slabs. We procure continously cast slabs from our TOP steel mill at voestalpine Stahl GmbH in Linz. Steel with a high cleanliness is produced in the LD process, with subsequent metallurgical and vacuum treatment.
Process models guarantee the precise chemical composition. The roller gap in the casting machine is adjusted using SMART Technology for soft reduction to minimise center segregation. High level automation of the casting process, including computer aided quality control, ensures optimum surface quality of the slabs.
