Clad Plates

Our clad plates and heads are mainly used in the chemical and petrochemical industry, oil and gas production, oil sand refining (coke drums) and food industry.

Further applications are desalination plants and flue gas desulphurization units.

We deliver roll-bonded clad plates for cladded pipes to the oil and gas industry.

Advantages

Roll-bonded clad plates are the economical alternative to expensive high-alloy solid plates. The mechanical properties of the base material and the corrosion resistance of the cladding material result in an optimum combination .

That means:

  • smaller wall thicknesses and thus less material costs compared with solid plates
  • better surface compared with overlay welding
  • more homogeneous bonding and a wider range of dimensions compared with explosion cladding

We deliver both clad shell plates and heads from one source.

This results in smaller expenditure of purchasing for our customers.

Steel grades and dimensions

Steel grades:

Clad plates consist of base materials and clad materials.

The base materials for our clad plates are made from slabs casted in Linz. Clad materials in slabs or sheets are bought from noteable producers.

For base materials mainly structural steels, pressure vessel steels and fine grain structural steels are used; they have proper weldability and workability.

For clad materials we offer ferritic and austentic stainless steels, nickel and nickel-based alloys, copper and copper-nickel-alloys as well as titanium, which are characterized by their corrosion resistance properties.

For detaillied information on steel grades please look into the brochure attached below.

The surface of the base material is normally "as rolled" or shot blasted.

The surface of the clad material is normally ground with a grain size of 80. Other grain sizes are available on request.

Here You will find information on Delivery conditions and Certificates of clad plates.
