Cooling bed

After hot rolling the plates are transported to the finishing area. Here each plate is leveled, stamped, marked, trimmed at both ends and sides, inspected and if required sent to heat treatment.

First of all the plate is flattened in the hot leveling machine, then the plate number is put on at the hot marking machine followed by transport to the cooling bed.

The cooling bed serves for air cooling of the plates and acts as a buffer for the shearing line.

For thick plates an specific cooling bed is in operation.
