Nodular Iron Castings

The basic iron will be melted from scrap and pig iron, using a eight-ton electric arc furnace, and will be treated by the modern cored wire injection method for excellent nodularization. Voestalpine Giesserei Traisen GmbH produces castings made from nodular iron at weights ranging from 100 kg to 10.000 kg exclusively on an order basis. The castings can be delivered as rough castings, pre-machined, or final machined and ready for installation. Total production of nodular iron castings is about 5.000 annual tons.

Castings made from nodular iron are typically high pressure cylinders, staves for blast furnaces and milling heads for cement mills made of EN GJS 400 15U, EN GJS 400-18U, EN GJS 500-7U und EN GJS 600-3U. Special requirements in material are available on request to satisfy the demands of individual customers.
