1851 - a step ahead of the rest
The Traisen foundry won several awards for their superior steel castings at three World Fairs. At the 1851 London World’s Fair they received their first award. At the 1867 Paris Fair they were awarded a bronze medal and at the 1873 Vienna World’s Fair a medal for innovation.
In the August 1, 1885 edition of the Industrielles Weltblatt it was reported that Berthold Fischer´s foundry in Traisen surpassed all other European foundries on account of their innovation. They have become the leading authority in metal casting through the revolutionary process of using hard coal instead of firewood and the Traisen foundry became the most well-known foundry in Europe.
