History of voestalpine Giesserei Traisen GmbH

Components

A 1,600 m² workshop, annexed in 2001, launched a new product-line to meet the increasing demand for finish machined castings and assembled components.

A 3.2 m diameter lathe with CN-controlled, moveable rotary disk was installed and started operating during an open house day in 2004. 2005 a milling centre with pallet exchanger started operation. The investment of new fabrication welding equipment finalizes the strategic process for manufacturing of castings and components ready for installation.

voestalpine Giesserei Traisen becomes its own company

In 1990 voestalpine AG found a strong partner in the Swiss based group George Fischer for the production of iron fittings.

Following the restructuring of the voestalpine AG, the Traisen foundry changed it’s name a few times. 1.1.1996 the plant became its current name “voestalpine Giesserei Traisen GmbH”.

The installation of two CNC machining centres in 1996/97 drastically increased our service potential and at the time it was possible to finish machine the casting made in the Traisen foundry.
