Blanks with variable thickness gaps
Due to subsequent assembly procedures and sealing concepts, it is necessary that the thickness gaps in the edge area are crimped in the pressing line, particularly in the case of door inners and flaps.
Process fluctuations could result in an inhomogenous crimping of the thickness gap, which would lead to undesirable surface effetcs in the visible area of the door outer skin during downstream assembly with the inner sheet.
In the case of blanks with varaible thickness gap, alternation is already integrated. this eradicates the need for crimping during deep drawing at the customer and eliminates the risk of surface irregularities on the door outer skin.
