As part of its 2020 Group strategy voestalpine is aiming to generate a Group revenue of around EUR 20 billion by the business year 2020/21. It aims to triple this to at least 10 percent (approx. EUR 2 billion) by 2020.

One particular focus is the market in South East Asia. voestalpine already has 56 Group companies located in 11 countries  in South East Asia: China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The long-term focus areas in Asia are in the fields of mobility and energy, for example, railway infrastructures, automotive parts, and turbines.
