Each year the Chamber of Commerce for the Cartersville-Bartow County region presents an award to its chosen “Manufacturer of the Year”. A high-profile committee nominates three companies which have made an outstanding contribution to Bartow County and the well-being of the people living in this region. voestalpine subsidiary voestalpine Automotive Components Cartersville Inc. was presented the award for 2016, and deservedly so: the young company has generated a positive reputation in the region relatively quickly, not only with its products for the automotive industry, but also for its sense of corporate responsibility.
Responsibility for the region
One example of its commitment is the company’s efforts to provide professional training for young people. voestalpine Automotive Components Cartersville offers students at Bartow County College and Career Academy a customized, dual model of vocational training—an example of best practice which is making waves within the region and beyond. “We may be part of a global group, but we are still very conscious of our responsibilities to the region and the people here.
