Division Automotive’s Expertise 

• Body in White
  The Dutch voestalpine Polynorm group is a recognised partner of automobile producers. The group complements the work of the vehicle producer during a model’s entire life - from initial product development to the manufacture of spare parts. Alongside its core site in the Netherlands, group activities such as pressing of parts also take place in Germany and the USA. Project management, engineering, prototypes and toolmaking complete the range of products and services offered to the automobile industry.
  We process plastics on two sites in southern Holland for lining or other interior applications, including so-called hybrids - combinations of metal and plastics for further weight reduction.
• Laser-Welded Blanks
  The voestalpine Europlatinen group is amongst the top three European suppliers of laser-welded blanks. This enables automobile producers to combine sheets of various shapes, thicknesses and strengths, making it possible to meet the most complex crash behaviour and stability requirements whilst simultaneously reducing weight. These blanks are pressed and used in vehicle doors, columns or whole side panels. Company sites in Linz and Turin support the serial production of practically every renowned automobile producer.
• Precision Parts
  The companies of the voestalpine Rotec group offer individual product and service solutions in Europe and North America. Precisions steel tubes, tube sections and tubes processed into complex construction components within the narrowest of tolerances improve, for example, passenger safety in airbag and occupant protection systems.
• Safety Engineering
  On two sites in Germany, the voestalpine Vollmer group uses its expertise in the manufacture of complex pressed parts to supply “precision from steel sheet”. Its own toolmaking department secures the expertise and ensures constant further development of manufacturing processes. Applications include safety-related components such as airbag firing channels or air filters and cooling systems.
